The people in the Salem area were going insane trying to deal with the outbreak of accused witches. The government recognized this and decided to set up the Court of Oyer and Terminer in order to help the community deal with all of the change. This court held many prominent cases, however the court was soon terminated and apologies were given to the families of accused victims.
